Mt. Cheaha Sunset Elopement Styled Shoot Turned Proposal

I asked some good friends of mine Dj & Karen to pose for an Adventure Elopement styled shoot I wanted to do on this amazing mountain called Mt. Cheaha in Delta, Alabama! They were all for it so we got straight to planning! About half way through planning Dj called me and asked if he could turn our styled shoot into a surprise proposal! I literally JUMPED up and down with excitement! Of course I knew how excited Karen would be since she had been hinting for awhile.

Once the day came it was pretty cold, windy, and overcast… of course we were a little bummed but knew it would still be beautiful no matter what! That is one thing with Adventure Elopements, you have to let go of any expectations when it comes what Mother Nature is going to give you on any particular day, just roll with it and make the best out of it! I actually feel like it was pretty cool with the colors they were wearing! We enjoyed the relatively short hike to the location we had chosen and they got ready once we got there! Dj & Karen were truly troopers out there in the chilly wind up on the mountain. Another good friend Cedar came along as well to help and be the “officiant.”

Just as we pretended to wrap up the shoot, the sun started peeking out from the clouds and created the most amazing colors in the sky. Dj pulled out the ring and completely caught Karen off guard. It was the most amazing thing to witness, almost like Mother Nature wanted to show her approval. They then had a little dance on the mountain and popped some bubbly! I am so thankful that I got to be a part of making this big surprise happen and being there to capture it!
