Ash, the wildly talented woman behind Desert Sage Hair and Makeup, and I have been dreaming up something powerful for a long time now. A Sedona-based experience for women who crave more than just beautiful photos. This isn’t about trends or filters or showing up perfectly polished—it’s about honoring your rawness. Your light and your shadows. Your strength and your softness.
We wanted to create a space where women could feel celebrated, seen, and utterly alive. Where the ancient red rocks and wild winds of Sedona become more than just a backdrop—they become part of the story. Part of the reclamation.
To bring this vision to life, we needed to create something worthy of the idea. Enter Amanda—our radiant, badass muse for the day. She came to us with a concept rooted in the elements: something earthy, sensual, untamed. We collaborated on everything from wardrobe to location, and when she mentioned her fire fans (yes, literal flames), I knew this would be something legendary.
Amanda chose to wear a dragon bodice—fierce and feminine—and we set off for Sedona to find the perfect wild pocket of earth to match that energy. We landed on this cave-like alcove carved into stone, a hidden realm that looked straight out of a fantasy novel. It was the kind of place that holds stories in its silence.
We started the afternoon at Ash’s place, where the transformation began—hair curled with intention, makeup kissed with desert light. Then, as golden hour turned the sky molten, we made our way to the rocks. Amanda moved like the elements—crawling, climbing, stretching with power and grace. She’s worked so hard this past year on her fitness and strength, and it showed in every movement.
But the real showstopper came as dusk settled and she lit the fire fans.
Watching her dance against the glowing stone, flames spinning in the air like some ancient rite—I swear time slowed down.
