North Shore Elopement at Temperance River | Breanna + Logan
Once upon a time, in the wild beauty of Minnesota’s North Shore, Breanna reached out to me with a dream — to have a small, beautiful elopement surrounded by their closest people, somewhere along the shores of Lake Superior.
She and her fiancé Logan planned to have around 20 guests, so we needed to find a location that could hold space for their intimate group while still capturing the natural magic they envisioned. As always, we started with a discovery call, and the second I met them, I knew this was going to be a special one. We clicked instantly — the kind of conversation that feels like chatting with old friends.
Once they officially booked, I got straight to work scouting locations. I put together a curated list of options that could accommodate their group and still give them the North Shore adventure they were hoping for. They landed on one of my all-time favorite places — Temperance River State Park — and I couldn’t have been more excited.
When the big day arrived, I met them at their sweet suite at Bluefin Bay Resort in Tofte, MN. There, I captured the calm, happy moments of them getting ready. They chose to get ready together for the most part — I love when couples do that — but Logan did step out for a bit to give Breanna space for her final dress moment. Once she was all set, we made our way down to the beach near their suite for a quiet, beautiful first look between the two of them.
Afterward, while their family headed off to prepare for the ceremony, Breanna, Logan, and I hiked along the dramatic gorge carved out by the Temperance River. This place is one of my favorite spots on the North Shore for good reason — it’s got everything: forest trails, river views, rugged cliffs, and that moment where the river flows straight into Lake Superior. We soaked it all in and got some stunning photos as we explored.
Later, we regrouped with their family near the river mouth, where they had their ceremony right by the water, with Lake Superior stretching out behind them. Breanna’s brother officiated, keeping things heartfelt and simple — it was beautiful, emotional, and so full of love.
After the ceremony, we returned to the beach near their suite for family photos and a few more quiet moments with just the two of them and their sweet son, in a little cove lit perfectly by the golden evening light.
Breanna and Logan were such a joy to work with — fun, easygoing, and fully present in every part of their day. I’m so grateful to have been part of it. We even captured a few special shots announcing the next chapter in their journey — a new little one on the way!
Wishing this beautiful family all the love and happiness in the world as their story continues to unfold.
