Kelly & Mike’s Sedona Elopement at Baby Bell Rock: A Love That Came Full Circle

Some stories feel like they were written in the stars—Kelly and Mike’s is one of them.

These two grew up in the same town, went to the same high school, and shared years of memories. Mike always had a quiet crush on Kelly, but life had other plans. They each walked separate paths, built families of their own, and weathered the storms that life sometimes brings.

But eventually, the universe nudged them back toward one another. And this time? It was right.

Their elopement day in Sedona was a beautiful symbol of that second-chance magic—an intimate celebration of love, resilience, and new beginnings.

We started the day at their dreamy Airbnb tucked into the red rocks. When I arrived, the talented Ash Lune of Desert Sage Hair & Makeup was putting the finishing touches on Kelly’s makeup. I snapped some detail shots—rings, florals by Mountain High Flowers, and those little pieces that tell the story of the day—while their closest friends relaxed and got ready. The morning felt calm and joy-filled, with the kind of laughter that comes from long-standing friendships.

One of my favorite details? They rented what they lovingly dubbed the “party van” to cruise around Sedona together. It was such a smart move for a destination elopement—especially with a crew this fun.

We headed to Baby Bell Rock for their ceremony, a spot that offers incredible panoramic views of Sedona’s iconic formations—Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, even Cathedral Rock shimmering in the distance. It’s the kind of place that feels ancient and sacred and just right for saying vows.

Their ceremony was led by one of their best friends, and it was hands down one of the funniest and most heartfelt ceremonies I’ve witnessed. Everyone was doubled over in laughter one moment and misty-eyed the next. It was real, it was personal, and it was perfect.

After a champagne pop and some post-ceremony celebrating, we wandered around for golden hour portraits of Kelly and Mike—just the two of them in the midst of the red rock beauty. We also grabbed some group shots before hiking back down and heading to The Hudson for their elopement dinner.

While waiting for their reservation, the guys shared a cigar toast (which made for some killer candid shots), and even though my official time was up, they insisted I join them for dinner. It was such a sweet gesture—one that really speaks to how genuine and kind this group was.

Kelly and Mike’s day was a beautiful reminder that elopements don’t have to be complicated. They can be full of meaning, laughter, and ease. They can be a fresh start surrounded by the people who matter most.

To Kelly and Mike—thank you for letting me witness your story. Your connection, your humor, your warmth… it was all a joy to document. Wishing you and your beautifully blended family a future as bright as the Sedona sun.
