From Georgia to the Desert: Cedar’s First Western Adventure
When my dear friend Cedar came to visit from Georgia, I couldn’t wait to show her the beauty of the West. She had never been out this way before, so we set off on an unforgettable adventure, exploring both Arizona and California.
Our journey took us first to Palm Springs, California, where we wandered through the city, discovering one of Elvis Presley’s homes and taking in the charm of the desert oasis. From there, we ventured up Mount San Jacinto, where the landscape shifted from arid desert to towering pines. But the highlight of our California trip was Joshua Tree National Park—an otherworldly expanse of rugged rock formations and twisted Joshua trees that felt like stepping into another world.
Back in Arizona, I had the joy of introducing Cedar to my new home. We explored canyons, mountains, and wide-open spaces, each destination more stunning than the last. It was amazing to see the West through her eyes, experiencing the awe of it all for the first time again.
Having her here was such a special experience, and I can’t wait for her to visit again so we can continue our adventure and explore even more incredible places.
